Cash-free facility

Arthur M. Blank Hospital is a cash-free facility. There is a reverse ATM located by the vending machines near the gift shop if you need to convert cash to a card on-site.

Concierge

If you have questions or need help with any nonmedical issues, you can contact a hospital liaison or concierge by calling 404-785-2525 from any hospital phone. Concierges are available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week.

Digital experience

Arthur M. Blank Hospital provides families with a familiar, user-friendly digital experience while their child is in the hospital. The technology makes it easy for patient families to ask questions, receive updates and connect with their child’s care team.

  • Calendar: a list of activities and events
  • Distraction and relaxation: TV shows, movies, video games, internet services
  • Education: mandatory and assigned educational materials and discharge information
  • Clinical updates: digital touchscreen whiteboard that displays your child’s goals, treatment team, upcoming schedule and more
  • Patient services and requests: interactive TV providing services such as online meal ordering, general questions or requests (i.e., room repair, new linens, etc.)
  • Digital concierge: submit nonmedical requests, get answers to questions, or chat directly with a patient family experience liaison via the Children’s digital concierge on the Children’s mobile app.

Chapel

Located on the second floor, our interfaith chapel is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Nondenominational services are held on Sundays at 11 a.m. and on special occasions. Services are also broadcast on Channel 4.

Family Library

Patients and their families are invited to use the free services and materials at the Family Library, located on the second floor. It is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

  • There are books in English and Spanish, including health, educational and reference materials; children’s books; and videos and DVDs. You’ll also find board games and puzzles.
  • Computers are available for parents to use with internet access.
  • The librarian is an excellent resource for medical information if you need more detail or have questions about your child’s diagnosis.

Gardens

Our hospital campus offers more than 20 acres of greenspace which allow for exposure to nature and healing views from patient rooms. The Great Lawn offers a great place for parents and patients looking for peace, quiet and a breath of fresh air.

Prayer and meditation

For families looking for a space for prayer, reflection, meditation or just a moment of peace, our prayer and meditation room—located on the second floor next to the chapel—is equipped to accommodate the needs of all faith traditions.

Seacrest Studios

Located in the main lobby, Seacrest Studios allows you to stay connected to the outside world and teaches kids about the exciting world of radio and TV broadcasting. Explore the studio and attend events in this one-of-a-kind technological playhouse.

  • Visit the studio Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Any patient can call Seacrest Studio to request a song, ask a question of a special guest or give a shout-out to a favorite doctor or nurse.
  • Tune in to Channel 12 to join the fun from your room.

The Zone and The Zone Backyard

The Zone is a place where kids can be kids. Located on the first floor, the Zone serves as a hang-out, a game center, a place to learn, a place to be the star of your own show and a place to connect. The Zone Backyard, an outdoor extension of The Zone, offers basketball, miniature golf, larger-than-life musical instruments and more.

Newspapers and mail

  • Stamps can be purchased in the Gift Shop.
  • The mailing address for Arthur M. Blank Hospital is 2220 North Druid Hills Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
  • Mail is delivered to patient rooms.
  • Mail received after a patient has been discharged will be forwarded to the patient’s home.
  • You can send mail from the hospital mailroom box at the information desk, which is picked up Monday through Friday by 10:30 a.m.

Legal aid

  • Health Law Partnership (HeLP) is a collaboration between the Georgia State University College of Law, Children’s and the Atlanta Legal Aid Society. HeLP’s goal is to improve the health and well-being of low-income children and their families through the combined effort of medical and legal experts.
  • HeLP lawyers and staff offer free legal services to families with children receiving care at Children’s who are living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. HeLP provides legal assistance with civil legal problems, such as housing, domestic violence, child support, guardianship, education and public benefits.
  • To contact HeLP, ask your child’s doctor, nurse or social worker for assistance, or call 5-2005.

Coffee Shop

  • Located on the second floor
  • Serving an assortment of breakfast, lunch and dinner items, as well as a full menu of coffee and specialty beverages.
  • Open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

  • Discounts
    • A 25% cafeteria discount is available to all parents of patients who are admitted at Children’s. A parent or guardian ID badge is needed to receive a discount. This discount does not apply to food from an outside vendor.
  • Special diets
    • If your child’s doctor orders a special diet (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium), you will receive a diet-specific menu. The order will be approved by a nutritionist before delivery.
  • Guest trays
    • Guest meal trays are available from room service. Your nurse or a family experience liaison can deliver guest tray menus upon request. Guest trays are delivered at the same time as your child’s meal tray, unless a different time is requested or your child is not receiving meals.   • Breastfeeding mothers
    • Mothers who are breastfeeding as the only means of patient nutrition can receive free meal trays for breakfast, lunch and dinner from room service or can receive a discount in the cafeteria. A nurse will alert room service and contact the mother with instructions.

Soda and snack machines

  • Vending machines are located on the first floor near The Eatery.

Bathrooms and showers

Each patient room, except in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), has its own bathroom that parents can use. Parents of children in the ICU may use bathrooms and showers on the second floor in the Parent Lounge.

Lactation and feeding rooms

Lactation and feeding rooms are located on the second floor. Breast pumps are available for any admitted patient family. A lactation consultant provides support on-site every Monday through Friday. For more information, ask your nurse.

Laundry facility

Laundry facilities are open every day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and are located on every patient floor.

  • Laundry detergent can be purchased in the Gift Shop.
  • Don’t leave clothes unattended. Children’s is not responsible for missing or damaged clothes.

Sleep rooms

We offer a limited number of sleep rooms free of charge to immediate family members. Located on the second floor, the sleep rooms are available for one night at a time. Room check-in begins at 5 p.m. and checkout is 10:30 a.m.

Protecting valuables

There is a safe in each patient room. The safe should be open when you arrive at the room. There are instructions on the safe for setting a new code and locking and opening the safe. If the safe is not open, if you forget the code or if the safe’s screen is not lighting up, call security at 5-6142 for help.

Security

The security office is on the first floor and can be reached at 5-6142. Officers patrol the hospital and hospital grounds. Our security officers can also assist with:

  • Lost and found

Smoking and vaping

To support a healing environment, smoking and use of all tobacco products, including vape pens, is not permitted at Children’s. This pertains to all indoor and outdoor areas of our campuses.
